CONCORD - UPDATE: (4:35 p.m.) Concord police has arrested Christopher Joseph Willard, of 307 Highland Ave., in connection with a shooting spree that left two dead.
Police apprehended the suspect without incident after a four-hour standoff, said Concord Major Wendall Rummage.
Police did not release identities of the victims, but family members on the scene identified them as Joyce Fink, of 314 Highland Ave. and Melissa Jones, address unknown.
UPDATE: (2:39 p.m.)The Concord Police Department is currently on-site at a residence on Highland Avenue. A suspect has opened fire in the residence.
The incident began about 11 a.m. this morning.
Police have the suspect contained, are monitoring the suspect and assessing their next move.
Investigators have scheduled a press conference at 3:45 p.m. today at the Old Cabarrus County Fairgrounds.
