Kristin Durant pitched a four-hitter and Concord's softball team moved over .500 in the South Piedmont Conference on Wednesday.
Playing at home, the Spiders shut out Parkwood 4-0.
Durant struck out 13 in seven innings.
The Spiders (5-4, 4-3) scored in the first inning. Bethany Laughter singled, went to second and third on passed balls and stole home on a walk.
In the third inning, Jessica Batten led off with a single and wound up scoring on a strikeout.
The Spiders scored twice in the sixth inning. Durant started the rally with a triple and scored on Casey Shue's bunt.
Caitlin Steele singled and scored on Megan Dakins' bunt.
Batten, playing right field, made three key defensive plays to preserve the shutout.
Concord hosts Piedmont on Friday to start the second round of conference play.
