The Northwest Cabarrus softball team shut out host Mooresville 6-0 in North Piedmont Conference play on Friday.
Taylor Beam scattered four hits, struck out 10 and walked none in the victory.
Alex Yohe went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, while Rebecca Faust went 2 for 4 with a triple and one RBI. Beam had a double.
Northwest (6-3, 6-1) is tied for first place with Lake Norman. The two teams Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Lake Norman.
