The Central Cabarrus softball team swept Yorktown, Va., 5-3 and 6-3 Tuesday in a pair of 5-inning games.
Mellena Helms was the winning pitcher in the 5-3 win. She gave up six hits, struck out five and walked two.
Alyssa Arnold, Lindsey Mullis and Tori Cragan had Central's three hits. Cragan had an RBI, along with Taylor Fain and Alexis Bruce.
Winning pitcher Chelsea Hartsell threw a one-hitter in the 6-3 win. She struck out one batter and walked three, allowing three unearned runs.
Arnold had two hits, Cragan and Bruce hit RBI doubles, Lindsey Brown doubled and drove in a run and Christa Biddy had a hit and an RBI.
Central (7-4), which bounced back from a loss to Hickory Ridge on Monday, next plays on April 20 at Hickory Grove.
