Northwest blanks Lake Norman

The Northwest Cabarrus softball team shut out Lake Norman 10-0 in six innings in North Piedmont Conference play Tuesday.
Winning pitcher Alex Yohe, who hit a solo homer, threw a two-hitter. She struck out six and walked two.
Lauren Duncan had two hits and two RBI in the win and Leah Blakely drove in a run.
Northwest is in first place with a 7-1 record. The Trojans (7-3 overall) host Statesville on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
