In its final game before spring break, the Jay M. Robinson girls soccer team posted a 3-2 nonconference victory over Sun Valley Wednesday night at Robinson High.
Rachel Eklund scored two goals to help the Bulldogs build a 3-0 lead before they held on in the second half.
Isabel Bernal opened the scoring for Robinson, converting a pass from Lyndsay Herrin.
Eklund made it 2-0 midway through the first half and then scored on a free kick in the second half.
Sun Valley later scored off a corner kick and then on a controversial penalty kick.
The game was officiated by just two referees instead of three.
"It was a physical game," Robinson coach Todd Spinell said.
"We outshot them probably two to one. It was a good win for us before spring break. We'll give the girls time off and then come back and try and win the (MECA) conference."
The Bulldogs improved to 7-3-1 overall. They are in second place in the MECA at 4-1-1.
