The Northwest Cabarrus boys finished first Saturday in the Western Carolina Invitational track meet.
In a field of 36 teams, Northwest won with 107 points.
Jacob Whaley's winning high jump of 6 feet, 4 inches set a meet record.
Also for the Trojans, Trevor Anderson was first in triple jump (43-1), and Chase Fisher was first in 3200 run (10:35).
Garrett West was second in 800 run (1:58.1). Daniel Caldwell was third in triple jump (41-9) and Desmond Williams was third in 400 dash (52.23).
The Northwest team of West, Matt Savage, Lucas Baity and Dejuante Brown won the 3200 relay in 8:40.
Northwest was second in 400, 800 and 1600 relay.
The Northwest girls finished second with 73 points. Greensboro Dudley won with 106 points.
Maklisha Ford set a meet and school record while winning the 100 hurdles in 15.73 seconds.
Ford was first in triple jump (36-10 1/2) and second in long jump (16-3) for the Trojans.
Northwest's Arianna Tucker was second in high jump (5-0) and Marjorie Gamble was third in 300 hurdles (54.27).
Northwest finished second in 400, 800 and 1600 relay.
