Two Northwest Cabarrus swimmers posted top-three finishes in the NCHSAA 3A state swimming finals on Saturday.
In the men's competition, Caison Roycroft finished third in 200 freestyle and third in 100 freestyle.
His 200 time of 1:42.82 marked the first time a Northwest swimmer has received All-American consideration, based on a national standard.
Also for Northwest, Yukina Onoda was third in women's 100 backstroke and seventh in 200 medley.
The Northwest relay team of Ethan Garrison, Preston Roycroft, Caison Roycroft and Cameron Berg was third in 400 freestyle.
The Trojans relay team of Jeff Gilley, Caison Roycroft, Patrick Grogg and Garrison was fourth in 200 medley.
For the third time, the Northwest men's team finished fifth overall at the state meet for the third time in the last five years.
The Northwest women's overall finish of ninth was the best in school history.
Onoda, Anna Therrell, Rebeca Freeman and Taylor Greene teamed to finish fifth in 200 medley relay and eighth in 200 freestyle.
In the men's 200 freestyle relay, the Northwest team of Berg, Preston Roycroft, Grogg and Kyle Cicinia was eighth.
All five Northwest relay teams broke school records.
Preston Roycroft also had a ninth-place finish in 100 breaststroke.
For Hickory Ridge in the 3A meet, Zack Lambert was third in 100 backstroke and ninth in 100 butterfly.
Hickory Ridge's Adam Mulchi placed fifth in 50 freestyle and Matt Icard was sixth in the same event, while Albert Chang was eighth in 200 medley.
The Ragin' Bulls team of Lambert, Mulchi, Chang and Icard was sixth in 200 medley relay.
In the 4A meet, Jay M. Robinson's Chad Heiser was 10th in 500 freestyle.
