Kannapolis takes up Stadium Drive repairs

KANNAPOLIS - City Council will consider an agreement with Rowan County to repair the bridge across Stadium Drive.

The road leading to Fieldcrest-Cannon Stadium from Lane Street in Kannapolis has been closed since August, when floods from Tropical Storm Fay washed up some of the supports under it. The bridge is still up, but city officials closed the road, fearing traffic would cause the bridge to collapse.

City Council will also have a discussion on the planned Irish Buffalo Creek greenway at its first meeting of the year.

The meeting starts tonight at 6 p.m. at the Kannapolis Train Station, 201 S. Main Street.
