Mallard Creek held off Central Cabarrus 70-64 Tuesday night in MECA 7 Conference varsity boys basketball action.
Austin Zygner scored a game-high 21 points for the Vikings, who dropped to 4-16 overall and 0-8 in league play.
Aaron Johnson backed Zygner with 19 points and Kriston Beasley chipped in 10 for Central.
