Undercover operation leads to 5 drug arrests

The Special Investigative Unit of the Rowan County Sheriff's Office concluded a month-long undercover operation on Monday with the arrest of five people accused of manufacturing and selling heroin, according to a press release issued Tuesday.

After making several undercover purchases of heroin, investigators executed search warrants at two residences.

The search of a home at 331 Allman Farm Road, Kannapolis, yielded 50 heroin balloons with a street value of $1,300 and drug paraphernalia, according to the release.

Victor Lynn Butler, 49, of 331 Allman Farm Road, Kannapolis, was charged with one felony count each of trafficking heroin, possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for controlled substance, according to arrest reports. Additionally, he was charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of a credit card device. He was being held at Rowan County Detention Center on $90,000 secured bond.

Anthony Dale Carter, 49, who listed the residence as his home address, had in his possession two heroin balloons, drug paraphernalia and $234 in cash, the release states.

According to arrest reports, Carter was charged with one felony county of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. He is being held in Rowan County Detention Center on $4,000 secured bond.

During the search, investigators also located Robbie Nicole Burris, of 2851 Davidson Highway, Concord, in a vehicle outside the residence, according to the press release. Burris had a gram of crack cocaine, syringes and a small amount of heroin, according to the press release.

Burris, 21, was charged with three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of drug paraphernalia, arrest records show. Her bond was set at $2,500.

A second search warrant was executed at 339 Allman Road, Kannapolis, the residence of Shari Houg and Stacy Glenn Beaver, according to the press release.

This search yielded one gram of heroin, three marijuana plants with a street value of $7,400, one gram of marijuana and three firearms, the release states.

According to arrest reports, Stacy Beaver, 40, was charged with one felony count each of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and manufacturing a controlled substance. He was also charged with one misdemeanor count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $15,000.

Shari Beaver, 42, was charged with one felony count of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for controlled substance, one felony count of possession of a controlled substance, one felony count of manufacturing a controlled substance, one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance, according to arrest reports. She was being held on $15,000 secured bond.
