KANNAPOLIS - Gentlemen, start your zucchinis!
The NC Research Campus Farmers Market will be a race track for vegetables in June as the Cooperative Extension services from Cabarrus and Rowan counties bring Bobby Waltrip to call the first ever Zucchini 500.
Children will get a chance to build their own race car out of zucchini and race them on June 25.
Other events throughout June offer classes on home canning this Thursday, fun in the sun safety on June 18 and preparing fresh produce at home on June 11.
The NC Research Campus Farmers Market runs every Thursday from 4-7 p.m., next to Transit Damage Furniture in downtown Kannapolis.
