The Central Cabarrus softball team shut out Hopewell 6-0 in a MECA Conference game Thursday at Central.
Mellena Helms pitched a six-hitter, striking out two and walking one.
Central (1-2, 1-1) scored all six runs in the third inning.
Lindsey Mullis tripled and singled in the win, and Tori Cragan hit a two-run double.
Kayla Kindley, Alyssa Arnold and Lindsey Brown hit RBI singles.
