The Mount Pleasant Tigers baseball team continued their playoff run on Friday night, beating host Forbush 10-4 in nine innings.
The Tigers (23-6) have advanced to the fourth round of the NCHSAA 2A playoffs.
They host West Lincoln in the next round, which is scheduled for Tuesday.
Winning pitcher Garrett Furr threw six innings of shutout relief, giving up only three hits and striking out 10.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the first two batters reached base for Forbush, but Furr retired the next three batters to send the game to extra innings.
A pair of two-run homers put Forbush ahead 4-3 through three innings.
"The big thing was I was really pleased with how we kept our poise when they were up on us," said Mount Pleasant head coach Bryan Tyson.
"We made a couple of mistakes, but we didn't panic at all. Everybody stayed calm and collected. We had a lot of confidence we were going to pull it out in the end."
The Tigers tied the game 4-4 in the top of the sixth. Cory Huneycutt walked and stole second, and Evan Seymour doubled in the run.
In the decisive ninth inning, the first run scored when Wesley Hammill was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Brandon Burris' suicide squeeze made it 6-4. Huneycutt drove in a run with a fielder's choice and Matt Barrier hit a two-run ground-run double.
Furr got the Tigers going in the first inning with a two-run homer.
