CONCORD - The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close lanes on I-85 from I-485, exit 48, to N.C. 73, exit 55, in Concord beginning Monday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m., weather permitting.
The left northbound lane will be closed intermittently to allow crews to take pavement samples for the future I-85 widening project. The lane should reopen by Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 6 a.m.
Weather permitting, lane closures will continue each night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., moving in sequence from the left northbound lane to the left southbound lane between exits 48 and 55. The closures will then be shifted from the right northbound lane to the right southbound lane in the same area.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
