A Mt. Ulla man faces charges of breaking into a Mooresville auto shop and taking a four-wheeler.
Sheriff Phil Redmond said that on Oct. 19, a representative of Peebles Automotive, 1355 Oak Ridge Farm Hwy., Mooresville, reported the larceny of 2007 Arctic Cat four-wheeler.
Deputy Bryan Whitlow spoke with Mike and Kris Peebles, owners about the break-in.
Redmond said deputies received information that Timothy Wayne Beckworth, 21, of Mt. Ulla, just inside Rowan County, was riding the four-wheeler and bragging about stealing it.
The four-wheeler was recovered in a wooded area off Oakbreeze Drive in Rowan County.
Detective Sgt. Jared Wingler followed up on the case, and spoke to numerous people who saw Beckworth on the four-wheeler the same night as the breaking and entering, Redmond said.
Beckworth was charged with breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.
