RALEIGH - North Carolina State coach Tom O'Brien says offensive coordinator Dana Bible has been diagnosed with leukemia.

Bible didn't travel with the Wolfpack in last weekend's loss at Virginia Tech and also will miss this weekend's season finale against No. 23 North Carolina. O'Brien says the 56-year-old Bible will be hospitalized for 30 days of treatment.

Bible also serves as N.C. State's quarterbacks and receivers coach. He's coached under O'Brien since 1999 when they were at Boston College.

The Wolfpack will bring back Jay Civetti (suh-VET'-ee) to help against the Tar Heels. Civetti was a graduate assistant on offense at N.C. State in 2007 and has spent the past two years as offensive coordinator at Division III Tufts.
