CONCORD - Lowe's Motor Speedway will ring in the holidays Monday night as it lights the Christmas tree outside Smith Tower.
General manager Marcus Smith will be joined by John Boy Isley from "The Big Show" and retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Tom Sadler, executive director of Speedway Children's Charities, to distribute grants to local organizations to assist children in need.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony that will include lighting a 50-foot Christmas tree, refreshments and appearances by Lug Nut, the speedway's mascot, and Santa Claus.
The event starts Monday at 6 p.m.
