What life and professional experiences do you feel will help you, if elected?
Growing up during the sixties and seventies and seeing all those historic moments played out on
television gave me lessons in how the world worked. Joining the Army. Getting married and helping two great kids grow into responsible young adults. And going through life acting responsibly, with a smile and a sense of humor.
What are the three biggest issues facing your constituency and your community?
Jobs, the economy, and development. Of those, the most important is the economy because voters do not have control over governmental decisions made in that field.
What specifically would you do to spur economic development and bring jobs, if elected?
I would propose offering tax credits to businesses that bring jobs to Harrisburg that employ Harrisburg residents, but not at the expense of established businesses.
What is your vision for the community that would shape your decisions, if elected?
I think it's time for the people to be the leaders. The people leading their elected officials is an idea who's time has come. Don't just sit idly by while the politicians tell you what you want. Demand a better choice and a voice in Harrisburg's future. Pick someone who is not following party guidelines but is willing to say what you want said. Pick someone who can vary their views, direction, and votes the way you want- or need- them to go. Someone who is held to the same standards you set for yourself. These should be the signs you look for: Honesty- number 1 and above all else. Adaptability- To be able to adjust and compromise, yet still maintain the basic ideas you said you wanted. Openness- To look you in the eye and explain where you or he is wrong, then ask for solutions to correct the problem.
Do you have any hobbies?
Softball and written composition
What is the last book you have read?
Was a romance novel that I wrote. I guess it was more of a proofread than for pleasure, but it was still a good story.
