What life and professional experiences do you feel will help you if elected?
As a husband, father, small business owner, and someone who loves the community, I understand how each decision made by the council can impact us all.

What are the three biggest issues facing your constituency and your community?
Three of the biggest issues facing our community are economic development, public services (fire protection, law enforcement, infrastructure, water, etc.), as well as community investment. Each of these are important because they are part of a larger picture which includes a higher quality of life, and the freedom to make our own decisions. Our community is looking for leadership that will provide high quality services, allow for a family-friendly atmosphere, and doesn't stand in the way of economic development which is critical to job-creation and community investment.

What specifically would you do to spur economic development and bring jobs if elected?
I will welcome economic growth and business activity by focusing on low taxes, avoiding unnecessary business regulations, and ensuring that any fees imposed on businesses by government are minimal. Some politicians support using our town government to restrict our ability to produce jobs and strengthen our local economy. You will often hear the terms "smart-growth, managed growth, growth standards/restrictions, government planning" etc. While there is no doubt that their intentions are good, we should be cautious of listening to any politician who believes that they know how other people should live their lives, and that our individual rights are less important than their political priorities.

What is your vision for the community that would shape your decisions if elected?
My vision for the community is one where taxes are low, our law enforcement resources and fire department continue to deliver excellent service, and the family-friendly atmosphere we love so much is second to none. Too often politicians attempt to impose their will on the entire town, and part of achieving my vision for our community will be to focus on individual freedoms rather than political mandates which limit our rights and freedoms. If given the opportunity to serve my community on our town council, I will do my best to serve the community by considering my beliefs and guiding principles, listening to the voices of the community, and analyzing each side of an issue no matter how difficult or challenging they may be. Each decision made by the council impacts us all, and I will take the responsibility very seriously. Visit ChadBaucom.org to learn more.
