Girl Scouts seek nominations for local 'Women of Distinction'

Girl Scouts, Hornets' Nest Council is opening the nomination process for the 2010
Women of Distinction luncheon.

A lifetime achievement recipient will be chosen as well as women in four specific achievement areas.

The Women of Distinction achievement areas are: Achievement in Community Building & Social Capital, Achievement in Environmental Leadership, Achievement in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math, and Achievement in Sports, Health & Fitness.

A Young Woman of Distinction will honor a young woman who has earned the highest award in Girl Scouting, The Gold Award, in the past 10 years and made a significant impact on her community.

Nominations are due Sept. 30.

The chosen recipients will be honored at the April 15, 2010, Women of Distinction luncheon to be held at the Hilton Charlotte Center City.
