CONCORD - The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Charlotte region, through 7 p.m. tomorrow.

Accumulations of sleet and ice could be up to a quarter-inch by noon Friday.

This system is expected to affect areas north and west of the Charlotte region and could bring 1 to 2 feet of snow in the Washington, D.C. area, much like the storm that hit the nation's capital in mid-December.
