CONCORD - General Motors informed 661 dealerships Monday their franchises would be restored.
Ben Mynatt Chevrolet Cadillac wasn't on the list.
The Concord mainstay will have to go through the arbitration process in its effort to remain open.
GM told dealers on Friday, March 5 it would restore 661 of the nearly 1,500 franchises slated to close by October.
"As many of you know, General Motors recently announced that it will restore the franchise rights for many dealerships. As of now, we have not been given that news, but our focus remains unchanged," general manager Cyndie Mynatt said. "We are committed to our customers and our community, and we are more determined than ever to remain a fixture in Cabarrus County and the region at large."
The Mynatts have been reaching out to area businesses and the community at large and have collected more than 1,000 signatures in an effort to convince an arbiter to keep the dealership open.
Congress passed a law last year requiring GM to go through arbitration to allow dealers to present their cases to keep their franchises.
