CONCORD - Concord Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the defacing of the Martin Luther King, Jr. monument on Cabarrus Avenue.

Police charged Matthew Paul Scarborough, 19, of 85 Sunderland Road, Concord, with one count of injury to property.

Residents found the monument shot with paintballs on March 1. The monument has since been cleaned up.
