Births
The Independent Tribune requires in-office signatures of both parents if last names are different, with photo ID of the father and/or a birth certificate with a raised seal. Birth announcements run in the Sunday edition only. Because of printing schedules, information must be submitted 11 days in advance.

Birthdays
Birthday announcements, ages 1 to 12, will be published at no charge on the day of the birthday. Announcements for ages 65 and older are also free. Information and pictures must be turned in together to the Lifestyle Editor's desk by noon, five weekdays before the birthday. Because of printing schedules, Sunday birthdays must be submitted 11 days in advance. Late birthdays will be accepted, but only if they are turned in within a week of the birthday.
