For the second time this week the amount of money being offered for the capture and conviction of the Sun-drop Bottling Co. shooter has been raised.
Governor Mike Easley announce Wednesday that he will offer $10,000 in the case raising the total amount of reward money available to $85,000. Concord Police Deputy Chief Guy Smith said Monday police were raising its reward from $50,000 to $75,000.
In a press release, Easley said he was issuing the reward "to preserve law and order the person or persons who committed such an infamous crime must be brought to justice."
Donna Barnhardt, 59, a long time employee of the company, and Darrell Noles, 44, who was applying for a job, were both gunned down in an apparent robbery of the bottling company on June 13.
Police released a sketch of a man who they are calling a "person of interest" and who was seen trying to get into the building an hour before the shooting.
America's Most Wanted, a national television program aimed at capturing suspects, is also helping to disseminate information about the case.
Anyone with any information in the shooting should contact Concord Police at 704-920-5000.
