Charlotte police have arrested a man in the August shooting death of a 2-year-old boy as he sat in his stroller.
Multiple media outlets reported the arrest late Tuesday came as officials dropped charges against another Charlotte man who had been arrested shortly after the shooting.
Twenty-three-year-old Ellis Eugene Royster of Charlotte and charged him with murder.
Police say Amias Bernard Robinson was shot August 12 when two groups were arguing in front of a house in Charlotte. Police say the boy was not the intended target. He died several days later.
Officers dropped charges earlier this week against 35-year-old Alvin Alexander. He had been identified by a witness as the shooter, but the man later changed his statement.
It wasn't clear if Royster has an attorney.
