A minor injury was reported after an accident involving a school bus at the intersection of Cox Mill Road and Poplar Tent Road about 8:11 a.m. Thursday, according to N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper V.J. Freeman.
There were no students on the bus, which was occupied only by the driver. There was one minor injury to the woman driving a minivan, which struck the bus in the intersection.
The wreck occurred when a Ford Explorer driving on Poplar Tent Road ran a stoplight and struck a minivan, which hit the bus, Freeman said. The driver of the Ford Explorer was issued a citation for running a stop light.
