Kannapolis Parks & Rec offers day trips

The Kannapolis Parks and Recreation Department is offering day trips to two regional wine festivals.

Visit the Stanley County Winter Wine Festival on Feb. 25 for some of the region’s best vintages, food samples and entertainment. Meet at 8:45 a.m. at Village Park to depart at 9 a.m.

Bus transportation will return to Village Park at 3 p.m. The cost of $30 per person covers admission, wine and food samples and entertainment. Lunch is not included. Registration and payment deadline is Friday.

On April 13, another trip is planned to Grillin’ & Chillin’ — a new festival in downtown Blowing Rock. North Carolina barbecue, regional wines, brews and blues are featured at the casual event. The cost is $45 and includes festival admission. Meet at Village Park at 12:45 p.m. Bus transportation leaves Village Park at 1 p.m. returning at 11 p.m. The deadline to register and pay is March 16.

The minimum trip attendance is 10 and the maximum is 25. To register, call Kannapolis Parks and Recreation Department at 704-920-4343.
